If you can, put the belt back on and the car in gear to keep the balancer from rotating. When I put my underdrive pulley on I wasnt so smart and had someone hold another bolt with a socket than then proceed to loosen the others.
thx shoebox but i cant get it on at all... nice tip about the 5/8's to straighten it but i think its all rusted together how do i get the damn thing off ive been working at it for many hours
Well when mine didnt want to come off I sprayed it down with Rust Eater and banged on it some with a rubber mallet.....then applied the puller. Just at the point where I thought the puller was gonna break the damper finally gave up and came off
Save yourself some time and trouble, buy a gear puller, you will
need to install a long screw in the front of the crank that will slide through the hole but not touching the threads, the reason for this is because the puller shaft will be to large, and buy or borrow an air compressor and air tools, you will be glad you did if you plan on doing your on work.
