ARP main studs question...
ARP main studs question...
I just tried installing my arp main studs on my block before sending it to the machine shop to see how theyd fit. I got the kit for the windage tray and they sent me 5 extended bolts and 5 regular length bolts. I only need 3 of the extended ones and no matter where else I put the other 2, they interfere with something. Right now I have the 2 extra's on the 2nd cap back from the front of the engine and it looks like they're 1/8" too long and they're hitting the oil pan. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
Also, the studs meant for the windage try are a bit shorter, I found a thread on this when I did a search on the subject, but the person fixed the problem by spending $50 on another set of studs. Would it be safe to leave the bolt a few threads away from bottoming out to get the extra 1/8" needed to secure the windage tray?
I may just call ARP in the morning and see if they can send me 3 regular studs, but I was curious if other ppl experienced this problem as well and wanted to see how it was handled.
Thanks
