ARP main studs lenght?
ARP main studs length?
Hi. I am purchasing a set of ARP main studs for another LT1 engine buildup. I found these ones:
Jegs part# 070-234-5501 Large Journal, 2-Bolt w/ Windage Tray $51.99
But, I have seen lots of post on here that those are a little short when installed. Ive seen that a few of you said that there was a set made for a different company(ie Ford, Chrysler, Dodge) that worked with our block and was the length that we really needed.
So, my question is...Do any of you know which studs for the other company will work? Or at least....tell me exactly how shot the ones above are when installed? Thanks!

Yeah....Well, Thanks for all the help everyone!
I finally talked to my machine shop this afternoon. We are dong 4bolt conversion to the center 3 mains now...and they got the necessary studs and bolts to do the job. I didnt get any sizes from them yet, but I will when I pick it up.

Ill call the machine shop monday and ask them. I need to find out whats going on with my block anyhow. My block is still down there(damn slow projects) so I dont have it yet to even look at it. BTW...mine would be for a 4bolt studded mains (3 center ones). Also, since then(this post)...I have swapped from a 3.48, to 3.75 crank and all new rotating assembly and have not heard from the shop since the new rotating assembly arrived. I dont know if Im gonna have widage tray issues now and possibly have to get different main studs or windage tray, etc. This project has been done assbackwards(i about finished a 355, then right when the shop said it balanced, I decided I wanted to do a stroker. had to clearance the block, buy all new rotating assembly, rebalance another assembly, etc) So I dont know if theyll need swapped again or not to keep a windage tray. Ill update the thread when I get some useful info.
