APE shortblock GP, and related problems
Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
It is not looking to good after I read all of those posts. They billed my credit card on 2/4/05 for half of the motor for deposit. What should we do? I will call them tommorow.

Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
I called them yesterday.
I had to dial the number at less 20 times in a row (I am nothing if not persistant) before someone picked up...in all fairness they could have been on the phone so I'm not trying to fan the flames or anything.
I spoke to Nick.
I have to say that Nick seems to have been nothing but honest with me since the beginning.
There has been some confusion as to specific dates but that's seems to be a communication gap that everyone has been fighting.
The guys the engine builder not the owner and it seems to me like he has to many irons in the fire, mind you not by his own doing, and the communication peice is the part that suffers.
What boggles my mind is why Chris seems to not respond to e-mails.
I know he put a post out explaining what happened but a few personal e-mails to people would go a long why to making them feel like they will indeed get the engines. I appreciate the fact that he stood up and took the hit for making the mistake of over booking but a single post on a Message board will only calm people nerves for so long.
Anyone one who's calling them...remember what its like when your boss makes a mistake and you have to take the heat. It's not fun and most of the guys working at APE are in the same boat.

Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
Wrong Nick.
Nick's last name is D'Agostino.
Nick Agostino was the owner of Agostino Racing Engines otherwise known as ARE. They were from Canada and still do have a shop to my knowledge.
There was a thread a while ago where the Nick from Automotive Performance
pointed out the difference.

I also called today and got no answer. I also called my credit card company to file a dispute. Hopefully everything will turn out alright. Has anyone received a motor yet? Atleast if they were putting one out a week, there would be some hope.
Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
Looks like there saying Nick and Eric quit APE on the 5th....
LS1Tech has a bunch of threads about what's going on.
I can't figure out which way to go on this one.

Guess I am going to call my credit card company and follow through will my dispute then. This is [edit] B.S. I have no use for people like that.

Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
I actually received my 383 LT1 shortblock on 4-22-05. I ordered it 2-3-05. They debited my account for the entire amount on the same day I ordered the shortblock. It was supposed to take four to five weeks. It took 12 weeks. Communication was extremely poor. I was given several deadlines that were missed. My "Guaranteed Date" was March 21st. I have been promised that the motor is free.
Before the motor was shipped out, Chris told me the refund would be given when the motor shipped out. It has now been 15 days after shipment, and I have nothing. I spoke with Eric after I received my motor, and he said my refund was in the "process". Now I can't get ahold of anyone at APE. Ironically, I was making repeated phone calls and nobody would answer. When I switched to my cell phone (a number they were not familiar with) somebody answered right away. Is that coincidence?
At least I have my motor. I haven't given up hope on my refund, either. My biggest complaint is how poor the communication is. They just need to let people know what the situation is. I would rather be told that it's going to take three months to get my motor, than to promise it to me in four weeks, and miss that deadline and then tell me it's going to be next week, and then next week. To me, that's not professional.

Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
Guys,
I have requested a charge back for my CC.
I just have a bad feeling about this.
I hope that I'm wrong and everyone gets there stuff.
Heck, APE missed there date not once but 3 times with me.
I gave them more than enough time to get me taken care of.
Hell I even know that they had a crank with my name on it...saw a picture.
I just can't take the chance that they might cut and run.
Honestly, APE still owes me a shortblock regardless of me getting my money back or not due to there gaurantee. Waiting on a refund wasn't going to happen with all the people that they have already promised a refund to.
I have a feeling that me requesting a charge back just took away my right to that shortblock....oh well I can always get another builder build it I guess.

Re: Anyone get there AP Engineering shortblock yet?
I also reguested a charge back today. I am not taking a chance either. If he wants to C.O.D. my parts I will pay for those, but will have my motor done locally. Good luck ....John
