Anything to gain by ditching flowmaster for LM

Right now I have Flowmaster American thunder system. People have been saying that this system is one of the most restrictive systems on the market. I was eyeballing the Loud mouth system and wonder if anyone has dyno numbers or performance numbers from the exhaust. Is there anything to gain. Any dyno experience with flowmaster? Is it worth keeping?

I think you would see a decent gain. The Flowmaster has internal baffles that are like road blocks for the air to pass through. I changed from a 50 series 3 chamber Flowmaster to a Dynomax Ultraflow. I felt a definite SOTP gain. JMO.

Well with my setup I gained 1.5 MPH in the 1/8th mile opening my cutout. That's a pretty good indication that the Flowmaster is a restriction with my setup.

Is your cutout in front of the cat or behind it?

I find it hard to believe that Flowmaster is any worse than any other muffler like it.

There are people who are pushing quite a bit of power through stock pipes too.

My SOTP meter says when i open my cutout my car is a whole different animal over just the flowmaster muffler.

I am hoping for ~3mph in the quarter!

If any of you guys are thinking of taking off the flowmaster setup, shoot mer an email, I'd be interested in buying. Mines stock, so anything is better. I do like how they sound.

It's located in the i-pipe just before it goes over the rear axle. I should also add before headers I only gained .4-.5 MPH in the 1/8th mile with my cutout open.

That muffler failed because of a flaw in materials. It did not blow up because of pressure.
