Re: Anyone's Delteq kit does this?

Not much of a update, but i called and talked to Pete in the tech department- cool guy by the way . he said he thinks my optical sensors are shot. he said the led on the opti box will show everything is fine, but that doesn't mean the opti is sending enough of a charge to run the system.

this is the order i have the coils setup on my car.

1-6, 7-4, 3-2, 5-8. mounted on the valve cover

i know the wires aren't on the wrong places i checked twice and pulled them off.

Hmm I just took a look at the opti box. Don't have the LED on mine. That's weird.

I don't think the early units had the LED.

Re: Anyone's Delteq kit does this?

Hey guys my buddy cranked my car over while i watched the coils spark and man did they spark. so thats a good/bad sign. means opti craped out on me. i have to be the only one with 30,000miles to have the opti go out. but during my s-trim install they tell you to tilt the metal elbow on the water pump and, while flying down the highway at 140mph that elbow that was distrubed blew out and i'm sure antifreeze dumped on the opti and over acouple months of the car sitting while i was working on the motor did the whole thing in. since the car over heated for acouple seconds until i could slow down and pull off i wonder if my water pump was harmed at all? it should be fine cause only thing it does is push the fluid through the coolant slots and it getting hot or running dry for alittle bit shouldn't hurt anything. reason i ask/say this is cause i replaced the temp gauge sensor and right before the cap/rotor went out i had the car running for 20mins and the gauge on the dash still read-210-215. which it use to read 160-170. i have a 160stat-electric fan switch, computer tune. the gauge isn't stuck on the back of the dash either. what do you guys think?

Sorry to hear about your opti I'm not quite sure about the waterpump but if you have the money, it might be worth while just to replace it, better to be safe than sorry.

Never had that happen with mine...only the delay in starting which was already described by Tom.

Pete said the optical wheel went bad from getting wet mostly, so thats the cause when the optical sensor stops working. well i don't have the money for a water pump. how do you know if it went bad anyhow?
