Anyone using Freescan??

Just wondering. I can't get it to work unless I do the "force data" option, and it's only a one time thing. Shouldn't it be a continually running setup like Datamaster??

I use Freescan. Make sure that you are not charging your computer when you are scanning or programming or reading. It will cause problems. You will have to force data but it should work fine. Make sure you have a good ground on that cable.

I don't get the continuous data stream, only a momentary data bit when I hit force data. It's no biggie, I also have Datamaster, but I kinda liked Freescan's easier more user friendly setup since I'm a newbie to hooking up to the car.

Sounds like a configuration problem. What kind of car are you using it in? It works only with OBD-I. Set it to 'interact' mode. Not 'listen'.

It's a 93 Trans Am. You don't get more OBD1 than that.

Like I said, Datamaster runs fine. Freescan doesn't for some reason. I'll keep messing with it.

I think the reason its not working is that its meant to work with 94 and 95 flash program computers, where the 93 still has a chip.

Well, straight from the guys website it says for 92-93 F-Car, and I've heard of a couple speed density guys using it no problems.

I have freescan and it works fine on my car 94z , but on my freinds car it does the same thing that you are saying ( he has a 93 z)I have had to repeatedly push the force data buttonand get the info out of it (but it takes two people one to drive one to run the pc)
