is this going over the axle or dumping before it?
28" is a lot
go out and measure from the back of your axle out if you go over the axle
if you dump before the axle, they'll fit

i had 3" true duals to an Xpipe, then 30" chambered mufflers from stainlessworks (ordered via summit). the 30" fit fine, ended just before the axle.

it was LOUD....even with the 30" it was racecar loud.

that will quiet things down quite a bit.....it will also get rid of the annoying resonance issues that dumps are known for.

my new setup is under axle out the back, and i love it.

so will these 28" chambered mufflers fit for an over or under the axle dual application?

take a tape measure and go measure it
for doing an over the axle setup, you gotta leave enough room to compensate for a pipe going over the axle and coming down and leveling back out (meaning, it goes over and straightens back out)
i would think it would be close

just went out and checked
you're going to be real close, i think you got like 32 max before it starts sticking out from the bumper
under the axle might hurt ground clearance more but might save you just an inch or 2

Scroll down to the f-body exhaust picture...

Should give you a good idea on the layout. Overlapping the tubes behind the rear to add another set of mufflers should help quiet things down a bit... even if you were to use cheaper bullet type mufflers there.

Good luck.
