Anyone Using The Borla Muffler Only?

I work with a guy who wants a Borla catback, but doesn't want to fork out the money for it. He mentioned something about just getting the Borla muffler and getting their single/square tips. Was just wondering as to what that would sound like. Anyone got any sound files?

The mufflers are about 109 and the tips are going to cost you like 130 a pair for the ones you see in the kits. How ever I dont think Borla still makes a Muffler for our cars that can be bought seperate. Even if they did, 260 for the tips, 110 for a muffler, thats 370, thats fairly close to what a used Borla will cost.

I really thought about this myself. Why does everyone go with that stupid looking dual/dual muffler? Wouldn`t it be less restrictive having a single, straight through turbo muffler?

my friend has the dual single exit on his tpi 350. it sounds pretty good but it is not real loud. also, i like the looks of the dual, dual. with borla you will notice that one side of the exhaust is louder than the other with the dual dual. get close and listen to the quieter side(the side that goes directly through the muffler) and this is what the dual single exit sounds like. yes it is not cheap. he paid $400 for his, although this was for an iroc 350 tpi.
