I was wondering if anyone has the FLP longtube headers on a 96-97. I see Thunder racing has a set up with cats and y.Is there any mods needed for 96-97, because I noticed the AS&Ms reguire a check valve adapter. Does this also go for the FLPs?

 

The FLPs are a direct bolt-on and needs no modifications. The only "mods" I would suggest is chunking the supplied header bolts and gaskets for some ARPs header bolts and Fel-Pro 1406 header gaskets. Been good to me so far.

FLP makes a great header system...I installed mine about 6 months ago and I love them. Just be aware that your computer will most likely set off a p0400 code due to lack of backpressure going to the EGR valve. It drove me nuts until I made an EGR simulator...and now the light doesnt come on anymore. If you need info on how to make one...email me and I'll help you out.

 

I'd highly recommend urethane motor and tranny mounts to prevent the motor from twisting the driver's side y-pipe up into the chassis.

 

I was planning on changing the motor mounts but I didnt even think about the tranny,thanks for the info
