I have one.

Wrapped it in heat shield and sealed off the filter as best I could from the heat the engine creates.

I believe its as good as you can get.

Just make sure you get the one that comes with the K&N filter. I think its like $20 more or something, but its well worth it.

Its the cheapest intake, but if you set it up like I did, I think its probably better than any expensive one

Just my $.02

from what i've heard, you get what you pay for. most people on here will say to stay away from the cheap looking ebay stuff and go with a well-known brand. but if you're only looking to spend a few bucks, its better than stock. my K&N brand new was a lot of money, but i think it was worth it. other alternatives would be to try and find a used K&N or moroso or the other well-known brands

I bought one 3 years ago and still wish I would have put the money toward a K&N, Moroso or Trans-Dapt. They are all secured rigid to the core and fender support whereas the dirt cheap ebay intake I bought dangles down in front of the front wheel with no good way to secure it. I used half a roll of duct tape to match the tubing and factory pieces together so the clamps would seal part to part. If I could have used all the pieces I would be necking the intake down smaller than the MAF diameter. Instead I used part of my original intake and still have parts of what chromeintakes sent sitting in my basement. If I would have known how much I was going to like the car I would have spent the money and gotten a high quality kit.

Essentially isn't it exactly the same as any other brand, just as long as you have a quality filter on their

I dont see how you can improve $200 worth of just a tube going to your TB.

I've seen plenty of people use PVC pipe.

Its a 3" tube, with insulation to keep it cold, no obstructions in the tube, and the filter is a good brand. Hard to improve on that, but if theirs a way enlighten me.

A good argument is the mouting hadware that is not included, but its honestly not that bad. And if you really worried about it, you can put heat shield on it (like mine) or just fab somethin up for $5 and itll be nice and sturdy

Its also not that pretty i guess, but my hood is generally closed unless i'm working on it, in which case I dont care.

Its not going to be of the best quality, but there are a few people on here that have them and are happy with them.

Did you notice it comes with the elbow part too though. From the TB all the way down. I think I will sell my Smooth polished elbow and my K&N and buy one of those..

The K&N has a circular cross-section on both ends, but it is not circular all the way through...in particular, the elbow curve... When the air tries to go around a corner, it naturally wants to continue in a straight line... so when going around the elbow curve, it tends to "bunch up" on the outer radius of that curve. The K&N (and some others) is wider in cross section at the outer radius of the elbow to give more room, since most of the air flow is against the outer radius. This gives less restriction overall than if the same uniform circular cross-section were maintained throughout from one end to the other.

I'm pretty sure (?) this is right

Sell it to me

Mine wouldn't let the hood come all the way down without distorting something else. I ended up re-using that flattened plastic section that rides on top of the radiator / core support cover. That's why I had to build up the tubing with a quarter inch of tape in layers to be able to match fit that part to the smaller diameter of the chromeintakes tubing. Admittedly, I cobble things together and that bargain intake is an example. However, I believe it is giving me some performance.

i have one and with the k&n filter, i feel it helps my performance. the one thing that sucks is the way the filter just kinda dangles , i secured mine with some wire and it works fine. Not a bad deal for the price...
