anyone seen or heard of this exhaust??

looking through ebay and i ran into this muffler for 98-02 f-body made by TRUSPEED, says its SS T-304 and comes with tailpipes/tips for $170. the muffler looks pretty good but the tailpipes look o.k. i guess. anyone know anything about this system, or is it even worth purchasing? im looking to buy a catback for my car soon and i was just looking at my options.

BTW here's a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAMAR...9434QQtcZphoto

Re: anyone seen or heard of this exhaust??

a) it's not a catback - just a muffler with tailpipes and tips (slashcut tips belong on the back of pickup trucks)

b) the mandrel bends don't appear to be stainless (if that matters to you)

c) "15% hp increase" ... not even gonna go there

Never heard of the company before, the exhaust if probably cheap because it looks like they cut some corners. It isn't a full catback because it looks like it doesn't include an i-pipe. Plus the tailpipes are 2 1/2 inches that doesn't offer a big flow improvement versus some of the other 3" catbacks on the market.

Keep your X-pipe.

also looks like the inlet pipe is the same diameter as the outlet pipes. it looks lke the inlet to the muffler is 2.5"...but without measuring i couldnt tell.

appears to be a good setup if you have a catback you're not satisfied with.

I believe a girl at school has that muffler set on her v6. Looks like the same, not entirely sure though. Sounds decent for a v6

Re: anyone seen or heard of this exhaust??

i was just testing waters to see what you guys had to say about this muffler, but yeah its 2.5" which sucks as far as HP or any gains to be had over a comparable direct-fit muffler. my x-pipe setup sounds sweet and i wouldnt change it for anything, unless i can find another catback that sounds something like it. LT's-->2.5" x-pipe-->dumped at axle and no mufflers= but the only thing is that its a little hacked up from so many times that i have dropped it to install/reinstall engine or change exhaust setups. i've had more than a few catbacks and not one has matched this setup, but the borla i had was pretty good. guess im looking for a distinct sound, but so far haven't really seen or heard anything special. i wanna see what a high end cat back sounds like with the LE2 setup, something like corsa or GMMG which are expensive to say the least.

That would do it right there. Who wants a "Girlie" exhaust?
