Re: Anyone see this? Elec. WP User's INside!

I work with electronics for a living and this looks like a pretty good system to me. I know some people might not like the cost but I think it sounds pretty reasonable given the time to develop and market the product. You can't make money by selling a product for the cost of the parts alone and I'm pretty sure this company isn't making this product out of the goodness of their hearts. No I don't work for the company either and I am sure many people could make a decent monitoring system for very little money but for those that don't want to or don't have the knowledge and just want piece of mind then it doesn't seem too bad to me.

In regards to the lack of a voltage regulator I believed the devices I used to be sufficiently robust to operate reliably under these conditions. In addition this monitor has operated well in the cars it has been installed in without the need for any filtering on the sense line inputs.
The term "elementary" was not meant to insult anyone or say it does not work. I apologize if anyone got offended from that term. It was meant to say that the system was a basic concept of a current monitor that needs to be designed to address various issues when using electronics in an automotive environment. The biggest issue is noise. Noise is a very big factor when designing electronic devices. That's why most ignition manufacturers don't want people to use solid core wires plug with their system, because it increases the amount of noise. The design shown does not even have 1 capacitor to reduce the amount of noise. Even though the IC chip can handle 30 volts, a voltage divider that's being used as voltage reference needs to have a regulated supply, especially when your dealing with 240mV signals.

"I have an led setup too with 2 lights. One shows no power, and 1 shows no ground. Either way, the pump isn't working and one of the lights will come on. I made the circuit having little electrical experience and managed to fit 3 leds(one for nitrous) and 2 micro switches in a bracket no bigger than 1"x2" which is nearly invisible in its location. I would like to add an alarm. Where can I get one?

Can that auto lite meter be set for different temps?"

^^^^ now I know who to find if I ever convert to an electric water pump .

You should see the mass of wires coming from that little bracket. It's nuts.

I am thinking about going back to a mechanical pump when this one goes. Peace of mind is definately worth the 6hp you lose.

That actually is only 2 1ft wires that are rolled up. All you do is wire that in series with the pump's negative wire. Other harness has only 4 wires in it and everything else just plugs in.

IMO here is the best electric water pump warning kit out there:

http://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ulti...=000106#000000

It'll warn you when the coolant get too hot, a sure sign of water pump failure.

Yeah but they put in a new sensor where firebirds already have a sensor there...

theres a spot for temp sensor in both heads take a look, it just so happens that b-bodys use the pass side and the f-bodys use the drivers. you can wire this switch into either head.

This can't be that hard to build....I'm researching temp switches after seeing the other thread.
I need to get schematic together and see what all is needed.

Re: Anyone see this? Elec. WP User's INside!

Holy old thread Batman, I know.

Has anyone bought this product lately?

The links to the company no longer work. I need a way to monitor my wp, but I dont think I possess the necessary skils to wire something like this up.

TIA.
