I don't think that's such a hot idea. Unless you do one hell of a masking job, you're going to get overspray everywhere. If you're already going to take everything off of it anyway, it's only 12 bolts, some RTV, and a $20 set of intake gaskets to take it off and put it back on.

I.E. don't skimp out. It'll look better and you'll have less of a chance of getting paint on something you don't want painted.

I don't see it being possible unless you brush the paint on.

i dont wanna promote a leak tho. hmmm. id really rather leave it all together.think i could tape off all around the base and make like a canopy taped to the hood so overspray wont get on the hood and windshield and everywhere else?

As long as you follow the specified torque pattern and properly torque everything down, you'll be fine.

The job will probably look alot more professional if you remove the intake, clean it properly, and then paint it.

The straight answer is that it's going to look like garbage...

As it is the best way of going about it anyways is powdercoating it.. unless you do the right prep it'll start to flake off anyways. You can't do the proper prep with the intake in the car.
