Question Anyone with Long Tubes & Starter Heat Sink?

I am running Long Tubes & after I run the car for awhile the starter is really struggling. It gets super heat soaked from the headers. I am getting a starter heat "Bag" to see if it helps this situation but I was just wondering how many of you had a problem like this.

Thanks

Cool

Summit sells a DEI kit for the starters. I think it's around $20. I've had the whole deal on my car for 2 years now and I'm still on the origional starter

I bought a DEI heat shield as well, I still have the original starter on my car at 135k so I am just gonna let it go for now and see what happens, if it kills the starter then I will get an LT4 and put the heat shield on it.
No Problems yet but the car has only been running for a about a week and the one long trip it had I did not encounter any heat soak.
I have JH LTs by the way.
