Anyone with Long Tubes on a Convertible??

I am once again reconsidering buying another set of headers after all the great pics I have seen of the Jet Hot LT ground clearance. I have a borla cat back and it looks like a y-pipe can be made that will not require cutting or modifying the borla cat back pipe. The pipe has a slip fit connection about halfway back. Anyway, I was wondering if any convertible owners out there have had any clearance issues with Jet hot lt's hitting the convertibles crossbrace once the y-pipe is on. The pictures I have seen on coupes tuck up so close to the pan that I am concerned that the crossbace may interfere.

Thanks
Jeff D.

I have a 95 convertible and i have hooker LTs and mufflex y-pipe with borla cat back everything fit perfect but you will have to cut a small bit of the brace at the corner nothing big no real clearence problems at all.....

Thanks for the reply. Did the mufflex y-pipe slip into the borla pipe or did you need to fab a section of pipe?? I would really like to see a pic of your y-pipe intalled if you have one laying around.

I am not sure if jethot increased the ground clearance over the hookers or not. I have a few pics of jet hots on cars and their collectors look like they are really close to hitting the pan. The hookers I have seen look like they have several inches. Maybe a mirage though.

redtransam...
I have three good pics that show ground clearance shots of hooker lts with the mufflex y-pipe. If you want them I can email them to you. I am trying to find out if the Jethots have the same ground clearance though. I think jethot improved on it some.

With my BRM welded subframe connectors, I decided to remove the cross-brace for maximum clearance. It also allows you to mount a driveshaft loop in the holes formerly used by the brace. This is how the coupes are setup and it's fine with the subframes. Great clearance in you get a custom y-pipe built.
