Question Anyone know if the Delco-Remy CS-144 alternator will fit on our cars?

My 93 uses the CS-130 which has the fan blade on the pulley and i believe the 94+ use the CS-130D which is an improvement that has dual internal fans. Now, both CS-130 & CS-130D arent that reliable for high current so i was wondering if anyone tried upgrading to the CS-144 alternator? Its much more beefy, reliable and its suppose to create more current @ idle then the CS-130/D. Anyone know if it will clear our hoods?

Im looking at this unit.

Actually as far as I know the 94-97 have a CS 144 already.. Mine has a 140 amp CS144.. looks just like the one in your link..
My 94 factory manual says the CS130 was for V6's..
The LT1's came with CS144
There are 2 amp sizes of CS144.. the one that has a plastic and metal fan, and a stud and nut red positive cable on the back is a 140 amp[p/n 10480111]..
The metal fan and bolt type red positive cable is a 124 amp size[p/n 10480131]..
Hope this helps..

I think GM PART # 10463680 (AC-Delco #321-1113) is correct for the 140 amp alt and you should also be able to get it cheaper from Dal or Jason (~$130).

[edit] noticed there might be a core charge, so the site that was posted above may not be so bad.

Further research reveals Rob is correct [as usual! ]
My factory manual [94] has those p/n's on the alternator page..
But the parts CD manual shows:
Generator, Reman, ID'd by p/n 10480111 stamped into part [I assume 140 amp] is '94 Second Design' are now GM p/n 10463680 or AC-Delco p/n 321-1113...
Generator, Reman ID'd by p/n 10480131 stamped into part [I assume 124 amp] is '94 First Design' are now GM p/n 10463446 or AC-Delco p/n 321-105J...
Generator, Reman ID'd by p/n 10480203 stamped into part [I assume 140 amp] is listed for 95's GM are now p/n 10463680 or AC-Delco p/n 321-1113...

Bottom line is we are both technically correct, but the GM p/n's as stamped on the alternators, [and listed in the 94 factory manual]are not available, only the remanufactured units are available, and they have been given the NEW GM p/n's as listed above.. which accounts for the change, [and the confusion!]

Thanks guys! I just called up that alternatorparts.com and talked to the guy. It seems that the alternator I have is the Early style CS-144. It looks like a CS-130 but has a full metal housing. All 94+ 140Amp alternators are actually second Generation CS-144's. Im going to go order a 170Amp CS-144. Thanks!

BTW- Jason Quoted me $135 + $35core for the CS-144 140amp alternator so its about the same price as alternatorparts w/o core.
