i talked to a friend that works at a dealer and he said that corsa makes gm performance exhaust. i did not know that. does this mean that corsa and the gm performance is the same exhaust? i wonder if there is any differences in sound?

 

CORSA is a GM PERFORMANCE product. The good thing about this is that u can use Corsa exhaust parts on your Camaro and not have to worry about your warranty being voided. (Not a problem for all, but a problem for some )

I personally think the Corsa exhaust is a pretty nice system with a nice tone, however, it is ungodly overpriced.

 

so is the corsa for the LT1's the exact same thing as this gm performance or is it a little different? i just don't want to buy this gm performance exhaust and it be something like a quieter or lower performing system than that of the corsa.

 

I think it may be the SLP 2OTL. It was part of the F-1 package, just like the SLP CAI was.

 

i have never seen the 2otl. i have heard of it many times but have not seen it.

 

it just has 2 round "ss" tips on the left side. Looks pretty cool...and it sound really good.

 

what confuses me about this is: corsa makes gm performance exhaust but its slp??? if this gm performance is the slp, i think i will look elsewhere. i just want tips on both sides.

 

I don't think Corsa is made by SLP. I am pretty sure they don't, but don't take it as fact. You can order the loud mouth system...it has either one tip on each side or dual tips on each side and you can usually find it pretty cheap.

 

Are you just looking at a part number or something? If so list the part number and it may be a little easyer to tell you what exhaust it is. I would buy anything without seeing it first, but that's just me. I know for a fact that GM sells the SLP 2OTL as a GMPP exhaust. I've never heard of them selling Corsa. But like I said, if I'd never seen the exact part that is being listed I wouldn't buy it.

 

sorry i don't have a part # or anything. actually i have not even seen it and yes i agree, don't buy anything until you see it. just one of my friends works at a dealer and told me he could get gm performance exhaust. he told me he might be able to get it at cost which is probally around $450 or so. thats just a guess and he wasn't sure. he did tell me he just got a gm performance system for his friend that has a new monte carlo. he mentioned something about even the mufflers were chrome but i really don't know.

 

If its around 450 I would bet on SLp 2otl cuz corsa is much more expensive

 

Ask him if it's listed with the F-1 package stuff. If it is (unless they changed it) it will be the 2OTL. It's pretty nice, but both the outlets are on the left side....2OTL. It was on all 96-97 Camaro SS's, and the 96-97 Firehawks. If you look around you shold be able to find a picture of it.

 

thanks. he is out of town for a few days but i will ask him next time i see him. i did not realize that the slp 2otl would cost $450 wholesale. i could understand it being that retail though. i have no clue what the corsa is wholesale.
