I was deciding between SRP and Weisco, but the Weisco seemed like a better piston then SRP from what the supplier told me (he knows his stuff, known him for a while)

I have used both!! The Wiseco's are a much better piston! My SRP's melted at 650 rwhp. Then went to a custom set of nitrous pistons from Wiseco...also got them dual coated by polydyne. Have not had a single problem. Spraying a 250 shot and soon to be a 350-400 shot.

Re: anyone have xp with weisco pistons?

Are you talking about the ProTrue Wiseco piston? If so they are OK, but I would still use the SRP if building a serious performance engine.

The ProTrues are definitely cheaper & also come w/ rings. Their design makes them have some piston slap on cold start, but no worse than the SRP or any other performance piston. I would use these over TRW & they are also available in STD bore sizes as well. Just used a set on a ProCharged 94 Vette & they are working out very well.

If SRP's melted at only 650HP, you need to watch your tune. I have put over 800 thru them with no failures. A piston will not melt w/ a proper tune. your reason for durability is not the brand, but the difference between an off the shelf SRP & a custom nitrous piston. Apples to oranges comparison there.

Custom Wiseco pistons are of better quality just as are JE pistons in comparison to the SRP. Note the prices...... you do not get something for nothing.

i can get SRPs for 467 and the rings for like 110 so in reality (for me) the SRPs are 20-30 bux cheaper then the Weiscos lol

i paid 580
