Anyone have the pinout for the small alternator wire clip

The small clip on the alterator has a single wire coming from it. My replacement has 3, and I'm not clear which one I'm supposed to keep. I temporarily remade my old one, and don't know if I even did it right, so I can't use it to judge with.

I really could use confirmation (now that I'm elbow deep into my car) as to which wire I should be using.

#1 is the larger feed of the 4, and is not the correct one, I know that.
#4 isn't an option either, as it doesn't have any wire on it to start with.

#2, has a letter "F" designation -which I had assumed meant "field" and was what I wanted. But the clip I remade has the wire at #3.

#3, this has a letter "L" designation, and is where my temporary clip wire comes out of. Did I remake the clip wrong a couple weeks back?

It has to be 2 or 3, and I really could use someones help on this. But I can't take any guesses either. :/

It should be "L". #3 in your pic.
