I wanna change the springs while the heads are still on the car. Anyone use one that can get under the cowl without needing much space?

I have one like the 3271, not the fastest tool to use but works well. Beehives small retainers add a little extra challenge to using it but still perfectly usable.

I like that 3271 style tool. I think I may go with that. Not bad for 39$ either.

To change my springs & roller rockers, I used a bolt type tool from Lisle. Works good once you get the hooks in. I took the handle off and used a ratchet.

The crane valve spring tool will reduce the time needed to do a full spring swamp by at leaste an hour and its a **** load easier to use. Just attach a ratchet and bolt it up. http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...id=171&sid=526
Its expensive but sooo good.

i tried about 3 different ones, and when it came down to under the cowl, this was by far the most effective. Not easy, but it did the job- and did it better that the expensive ones-
