To anyone that has changed window motor

Do I need to take any precautions with the flat wound spring?
What I'm trying to say is if I follow Shoebox's instructions will the spring stay in place if I stay away from it, or do I need to lock it in place.

As it says on the top of the instruction page, it does not involve the spring. Just drill out the rivets indicated and no others.

With shoeboxes install page job took about a half hour and only cost about 70 bucks. Very easy and you save BIG bucks.
