Yeah all motor should not need 3.5" duals. I would go with 3" unless you have a really good reason.

If collectors are 3", why are you increasing to 3.5"?

Re: anyone got pics of 3.5 inch true duals?

I just found that I did not respond to this thread, the collector will be 3.5 inch. Normally aspirated engines need more exhaust than FI or nos applications, I have since decided to build a 3.5 inch Y pipe into a 4" Mufflex.

Some of us use 3.5" collectors .

FYI: I'm using a 2x3.5"->4" single merge.

Pro Dyno in Phoenix, AZ specializes in custom exhausts. They have a killer true dual for F-bodies that utilizes an "X" pipe and Borla XR1 mufflers, Check out their website http://www.prodyno.com/index2.html Just so you know, the true duals end before the rear axle. And they also have a killer true dual for Corvettes too.

On more than a few muffler sites, it is stated on charts that 500 rwhp(650-700 flywheel hp) needs a dual 3.5 inch system or one 5 inch single.

ANd why would you think a NA car wouldn't? Just asking. The more free flowing the exhaust is the less the piston has to push it out on the exhaust stroke. The closer you can get to being uncapped the more power a NA engine will make.
