Lightbulb Anyone ever use two donuts as skinnies for racing???

I was watching TV the other day and this just popped into my head. Would it be possible to put two donuts (the spares for flats) on the front wheels as poor man's skinnies. Will the tires handle it? What about new tires on them?

I guess when you're poor you have to come up with stupid stuff like this to get by.

So am I an idiot or what?

Skinnies=50 or 55 MPH MAX (even though its went higher on some members rides). You can do an 1/8 mile faster then 70 mph so if you keep running from 0-70+ then the tire will wear out real fast. You say your cheap so you want to use "cheap ideas". How cheap of an idea would it be if one skinny POPS and your ride slams in the wall? Hope ya know a cheap way around body work, painting it, fixing the frame, maybe replacing the suspesion and a few other things.

I doubt track officials would even let you run.

Good point shoebox, thanks for the informative replies. Guess I'll go back to dreaming about having a fast car. Maybe I could stick a leaf blower on my intake!

I have seen people try and pass tech with them. Not at the tracks I race with. I wouldn't even line up with you. Last thing I want is someone going 100 on tires designed for 50 and have a blowout...

Bah. I`ve done it. I ran over two nails, yes two nailss at one time on the highway. Luckly my buddy with a 93 TA was behind me on the way home. I put two spares on it, the car felt alot different. Wouldn`t stop or turn worth a damn though. Accleration was nice though.
