Re: Anyone ever have problems with ACCEL injectors

When I wanted #36 injectors I went with accell. After about 2 years (5K mile) 3 of them weren't squirting and 2 were dripping. Get SVOs or racetronix.

Re: Anyone ever have problems with ACCEL injectors

I have to say from what I have read, the SVO injectors are the best.

The Accels seem to be famous for their problems.

The tuners MADZ and PCM4LESS will beg you not to use them.

Can you get 8 30 lb/hr SVO or other brand for 240$ like you can do the ACCELs from Jegs?

Re: Anyone ever have problems with ACCEL injectors

I've had Accel 30lbs in the car for a year with no issues. When I got my car dyno tuned by Bryan Herter he never mentioned anything negative about the Accels...I have heard bad things about them via the internet, but know of no problems at any tracks or events I've been to...

A good friend used them on his 383 stroker. After several tries to tune them by PCMFORLESS he bought 30lb SVO's and got it tuned on the first try. All of the well known tuners will beg you to stay away from the Accel's. Go with the 30lb SVO's. A much better choice.

Re: Anyone ever have problems with ACCEL injectors

At one point I needed injectors in short order and pcmforless recommended I not buy Accels but they were all I could get quick. The car started better with the widly varying flow and one dead one that they replaced, Bryan took several shots at the tune and even when fuel trims were finally sorted out milage was still down.
Bryan is too nice a guy sometimes and sometimes will not tell someone something already on the car is JUNK, Alan I think you are smart enough to listen to someone like him if he told you that BUT not all of his customers would be happy and would go on the defensive and attack him.

I know of only one "proffessional" tuner who recommends the Accels and besides that fact would not do buissiness with him do to other shady dealings he has had and a SEVERE ego problem. He is the type of guy who would say something was good just because his competitor doesn't like it.

EDIT There has been some confusion the "professional" tuner I mentioned in the above paragraph is not Ed Wright I hope nobody but the person who PMed me thought so. I have nothing bad to say about Ed and recognize him as the first LT1 tuner and one of the best in the buissiness

Yeah, Dwayne...I'm emailing Bryan as we speak...If he thinks I'm going to have problems I'll swap them this winter for some 32 lb Racetronix or some other type. I'll eat the $200 I spent last year if I have to. I guess I got lucky, then, Bryan was able to nail the tune with no problems...I'll see what he thinks I should do...

Good call man, sometimes you can have some luck with them, and from what i understand its the 19-30's that have the issues. I bought a set for the old Firebird, and 2 leaked fresh outta the box. I got them replaced for free, but heard that over time it can happen again...I sold them and got SVO's. There have been alot of people that have had issues with Accels besides myself.

Re: Anyone ever have problems with ACCEL injectors

I added a note to my above post apparently there was some confusion and I want to make sure it is cleared up.
