Anyone else's oil drain plug leak?

First off, yes, i made it tight. I dont know how it is leaking. I just fixed the IM leak, changed the oil, and bam it leaks. Not alot, just a drip a day. I tried retightening it, but it did nothing really. I know it is the drain plug b/c i cleaned around it. Is there a seal on the drain plug or something? I know this sounds stupid but i just fixed one leak and now i have another

I am not gonna screw around with it. I guess i am gonna buy a new drain plug from the dealer and put it on next oil change. Just what really sucks is that i fixed one leak, and now i have another. Poopey.

Will the dealer sell me one plug or will i have to buy a whole oil pan or some stupid crap like that? You know what i mean? with certain things you have to buy a whole assembly to get one part.

You can get a new magnetic plug and seal from AutoZone/Pep-Boys pretty cheaply.

Go to Carquest or Autozone and pick up another one. They come with a small washer that has a rubber-like seal around the center. I dropped mine in the oil drain pan like 10,000 miles ago and still haven't had a leak, I guess I'm lucky. Try a little RTV sealant on it next oil change and it should be good. Good Luck...

Easy solution --> just buy a rubber plug. $2 at the local auto shop

just go to autozone and buy a pack of oil drain plug orings. put it on and go.

Using a rubber plug in place of a metal factory plug, i wouldnt be trusting the motor to a little rubber plug.

FYI, the plug you buy from the dealer doesnt come with an oring.

Its not exactly an o-ring. More like a washer with a rubber lip around the center.
