Anyone elses ceramic headers rusting?

It's been about 6 years since I've had em done..but are they supposed to rust? I never drive my car and sits in the winter, so maybe thats why. Just figured they wouldn't. Any way to clean them up?

mine are showing a little surface rust, around where the primary tubes come off the motor, but is not bad just surface, i guess you could sand on them and maybe throw a little high temp paint on them but its gonna come off eventually, im just gonna live with mine they were to hard to put in for me to ever wanna take em off

wow 6 years? That is good from what I heard most ceramic coated headers last about 4 years before rusting

example...

If it where me I would go ahead and use a scotchbrite to rub off the rust and hit it with VHT silver header paint.

Remember ceramic coating is for heat retention and dissipation, not corrosion resistance. I'd say 6 years is pretty damn good. Mine lasted just under two.

I just brought these used hooker headers and they had the rust by the collectors and a lil spotting on the primary tubes. I sanded them all down to where it was smooth again and I sprayed them with a high temp primer and I did about 3 coat of that then I sprayed them with a high temp header paint I got at auto zone and I sprayed them with 3 coats and they turned out way better. I've got pics if you guys wanna see

alright I'll have to do it once I get home bc my phone won't put them on here so as soon as I get home I'll put them on. They turned out nice, I just hope they work. Which I believe they will. I'll put the before and after pictures on. Also, I just painted them like 2 days ago. I just didn't bake them like you should. I don't have a baker to bake them in

Also make sure you prep them well if you are going to repaint...or the paint will flake off. A lot of the paints hi-temp paints I have seen also require you to heat them for certain lengths of time to set them up correctly. Other than that good luck!
