anybody try the edelbrock performer lt1 heads yet?
Hi guys. Has anyone tried the edelbrock performer lt1 heads yet? Anyone have any ideas what the flow numbers are? The price on them isn't bad if they flow around 240-250 at .550 lift. Tell me what you guys think. Thanks in advance.
According to edelbrock's website, they claim 73hp and 36tq with the heads and their cam, of course this is flywheel hp and tq. Their cam is pretty typical of what's out on the market, .525 lift 218 duration I/E on a 112 lobe. This claim doesn't sound out of the ordinary at all. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried the heads, deck thickness, flow numbers, ect. They list for $519 each at summit.
They claim roughly the same flow numbers as LT4 heads with significantly smaller port volumes and valve sizes, and they base their hp claims on a single pattern cam. At this point I'm skeptical. I would like to see someone post some independent flowbench and/or dyno numbers.
I had these heads and had to trade them to do an untimely tranny swap...
they are now on my roommates caprice and we installed the engine tonight.. next month it will be dyno tuned.. I will post the numbers he gets then.. BTW he is using a zz4 cam (modified for an LT1 opti) and 1.6 rockers..

I just got some flow numbers from edelbrock. Nothing special really. Wonder how they'll shine with a port job? With what's on the market already, it will be a hard sell. Anyway, here are the numbers they gave me. I/E .100 61/52 .200 117/110 .300 174/140 .400 220/167 .500 242/184 .600 232/192
