anybody have helicoils or king inserts in there heads
had headers done then blew gaskets so know i have to get heli coils or king inserts installed so headers will tighten up is this a common thing like i was told
Most don't have issues with sealing AFAIK. I always manged to get my LT's to seal with a water soaked & rtv coated paper gasket - better than my Fel-Pro's did anyway.
If you want to be able to apply more torque, then sure, helicoil them, customers have me do that now and again & it's not really a big deal. It's definitely a nice thing to have IMO.

its been my experience that your really not going to get a big enough wrench in there to tighten them more than the standard threads can handle anyway...
The secret is in the tightening and retightening of the fasteners...do a search for my username since I don't want to explain it all again about how I did it.
