Anybody ever changed....

The bracket that the alternator secures to. The big metal piece on the top that goes down and the power steering pump secures to it also? Mine just freakin broke into two pieces. Anybody who has done this...how hard is it change?

You just have to get everything floated off of the accessory bracket and remove the four bolts holding it on.

How are people breaking these things?

The alternater and the power steering pump must be removed, the AC compressor can be unbolted and left hanging in its place, then take out all the bracket bolts and your done.

They don't look that strong after you have broken one. They look like a power inside, like it is cast. I ended up jb welding the one I have back together, but I have a new one coming in the mail. I might just wait to put the new one on, see how the jb weld holds up. Now I just need a new alternator.....
