Any tips for removing frozen crank pulley?

Any tips for removing frozen crank pulley?

well the thread title pretty much says it, can anyone offer any tips on how to get my crank pulley off it's stuck to the hub pretty badly, and i need to remove it in order to install my new opti

Get a gear puller ( looks like a 3 fingered claw with a threaded rod in the middle) and grab the middle of the pulley and it should come off eventually. Spray it with some WD-40 or something 1st though to help it slide off.

What he said. But it's easiest to remove the pulley and hub as one

A properly attached puller will get it off. You don't need to remove the hub to get the opti off.

thanks so much for that picture shoebox, helped me a ton, do you think i can borrow a puller like that from autozone or discount autoparts? i priced one at sears and it was almost 200 dollars

You might be able to rent one. Someone said AZ had that very puller. I bought the one in the pic from Advance Auto for ~$25 or somthing (can't remember exactly).
