Arrow Any easy way to tell if an A4 has been rebuilt?

I've been test driving my 93 after the 94 engine swap and since I adjusted the TV cable, the tranny shifts very nice. It chirped second several times too. (and that with the throttle still not opening all the way... the 93 cable is a little too long for the 94 engine)
I was wondering if there's an easy way to tell if a tranny has been rebuilt before or not? I always hear these horror stories about A4 dying too quick so I'm just thinking what to expect.

PS. The old engine had 129K miles and according to the stamped numbers on the tranny, it's the car's original.

not really, the places that are proud of their work will place a sticker or stamp the date and product # on the case. The stamp is usuly on the passenger side right behind the bell houseing on top

did you get that throttle cable issue figured out

No... I tried to shorten it today by cutting the stop on the pedal side and ended up cutting a little too much. I found a perfect "adjustable" stop for it, if only I would've cut it right. Oh well, live and learn. I'll order a new 94 cable on Monday....
Removing the carpet did help a little though. (before my !long mod...)
