Any 10 second heads/cam LT1s??

Doing my cam now and this is something I am going to shoot for. Not too soon but will shoot for. lol.

I see Frank95Z and Ken95Z28 running 11.4 and 11.8? respectively with only small cams. Why couldnt a heads/cam combo go for 10s. Anyone got one? What did it take?

not gonna happen.

the most power ive seen on a stock bottom end, heads/cam lt1 is around 400-420 rwhp, on the best ive seen posted.

even with an amazing suspension setup, thats simply not good enough for 10s..................mid-high 11s at best, usually around 115 trap speed.

not true

it is very possible if u spend ur money in the right places

1) weight reduction GALORE
2) 4500 stall
3) solid roller cam
4) mad heads
5) enough traction and suspension

i can see mid to low 10s with this setup !

but it'll take a LOT more money to go 10s on heads and cam than it would with a little bit o funny gas

ok ok ok...........its "possible"..........but not practical, and definetly not in a daily driver.

if you want 10s on the stock bottom end and a relatively daily drivable car.

very well ported heads.
very large aggressive cam.
proper dyno tuning.
150 wet shot.
12 bolt.

We had a guy a few years ago runnng high 10s on his 355. Joe Overton runs 9s N/. I think it can be done, we broke 11s with bolt on cars, still have plenty of cars doing low low low 12.s in bolt on only cars. To say an LT1 can't run 10s N/A I say thats b.s. I say it doesn't have to be some awesome colid cam either. Big Hyd Roller, great set of cam, traction provided by a good suspension matched up to the right tire it can be done. People lost intrest in their LT1s when this whole LS1 thing came in to full force. But we got some guys realy porving what these motors are capable of. 10s with a h/c stock bottom end can be done.

Well, how long have we been racing LT1's and it still is not happening with H/C setups, let alone a streetable setup.

But heh, ya never know, someone might get a H/C combo, race on one of those magical tracks that cars with only a cam can hit 115+ MPH , let alone put a good set of flowing heads on that combo, you might.

But for normal folks that I seem to be, it will take a stroker, ported heads, good compression, good exhaust, bunch of bolt-ons and lotsa tuning.

You can do it, there's a guy that used to have a website for his vette, using the stock bottom end he was running deep 10's. Seems like 10.70s or even a bit quicker...I was amazed.

I think it could be done, but like everyone is saying with ALOT of weight reduction... Now an F-body at full weight? That would take ALOT of money while still keeping it at 350ci...

I think it can be done so I will go for it. Chit, if I end up short I will still be a mid to low 11 second car.
