antifreeze?

A lot of ppl complain about sludging problems when they use dexcool. Just wondered.....would the Prestone pre-mixed stuff that is dexcool approved be as bad? Maybe the reason ppl have so much trouble with it is because they want to leave it in there 5 years and think it'll be ok.

i believe years because after so long corotion adds up i dont think it has to do with mileage, althogh you are supposed to do it like every 30,000k i think maybe its 50... who knows

The only problem that occurs is that you dont get the longevity that the orange stuff promises... it lasts like 2 or 3 times longer then the green stuff... but when you combine them it ruins that promise... thats all
So reduced life is the only differance? What about the chemical reaction mentioned earlier.

the reason everyone says not to mix these two types of coolant is becuase the DEX is an organicaly based coolant and the antifreeze is chemically based, when you mix the two, the chemicals kill the organisms in the dex, creating a Sludge, which is not good for your cooling system what-so-ever!

this is why your pets die if they drink the green antifreeze!
