ANSWER ASAP Does it matter if my tank is full to install a fuel pump???

I am taking my t-rex off to sell to a board member and I have a walbro 340 sitting here waiting to go in. I need to do it TOMORROW and I just filled up last night. The tank is not full but it's not that far from full.

Also, are there instructions on how to keep the fuel bucket with a walbro pump?

Last question, my car should run fine with the stock fuel pump and the inline pump gone right? I mean I wouldn't be doing any performance type driving but it would work if I needed to drive it?

Thanks!

It won,t matter if the tank is full or not.
The old pump should work fine if its hooked up correctly.
Can,t help with the bucket cause I did not put my new fuel pump in it.

Oops, I was assuming you had cut an access hatch like I did.
It still won,t matter if the tank is full but it will be heavy and alot harder to pull from the bottom.
I would try to sifon some out if pulling the whole tank.

6lbs a gallon at 13 gallons could be a little heavy to wrestle the tank down and out from under the car...

Come on man that ain't funny! Not trying to die here haha. Seriously though, the sparks from the dremel will not come in contact with gas. Even then, a spark won't ignite the gas.

Heres what I did.
After measuring using the dimensions I got off this site, I used my dremel to cut just enough to get my tin snips in and cut the rest that way.
Its not pretty but then again no one is going to see it and in my opinion its much safer.

read some other posts regarding using the factory bucket (some of my old ones have links)..... if the walbro is "off the shelf", i don't believe u can use the bucket. i purchased the racetronix kit for $149 which does allow factory replacement, and comes with EVERYTHING needed. you may wish to look into their kits if u want a true pnp replacement... the instructions posted that allow you to keep the bucket are probably for racetronix replacements....

Actually....a more empty tank would cause a larger explosion. The fumes it what does it. not so much the gas.
