Another VATS question.....should be pretty simple
Another VATS question.....should be pretty simple
I just finished removing a poorly wired aftermarket alarm from my 94 Z28. I discovered the only factory wires that were actually damaged(their connector was cut off) were the 2 white wires with the orange sleeve for the VATS. The wires come from the steering column and are supposed to connect to 2 other wires.
My question is: Could I just go to a junkyard and find another GM car with VATS, go under the dash and cut this wire off, so I can splice it onto my existing wires? The chances of me finding an f-body are slim, but Im sure there will be something that has the VATS wiring intact.
Thanks,
Dave

Stick a resistor across it with the same value as the chip in your ignition key. Solder it in, wrap it and be done with it. Don't reconnect it, in the end you'll be sorry.
Yes this defeats the ignition key theft device but trust me on this
