Motor oil question (Mobil 1 and others?)
I only run Mobil 1 motor oil in my 95. I park it in the winter and before I park it I have an oil change done. Can I use regular oil for the winter while it is on blocks and then go back to the Mobil 1 when I start to run it next summer?
Also, I haven't had an oil change in a bit and the car has been sitting since September. I noticed today when I took it out of the garage that is is beginning to leak oil. Haven't checked from where yet. Previous to this the car hasn't lost a drop. Any ideas????
Thanks!
Mike

Im not real clear on the scientifics of it, but I believe synthetic oil is more stable when sitting for long periods of time, thus making it a good choice for vehicles that sit a lot.
Also, synthetic always seems to leak more than conventional oil, as synthetics have a detergent that breaks up sludge and carbon, often allowing leakage.
