another trouble code

i used a snapon tool and it said O2 sensor. the car runs rough at idle and up to about 3000rpm then clears up? could this be the O2? is there a way to test them?

Re: another trouble code

If you know someone with an Ohmmeter, you can check resistance and compare it to a "good" one. That's all I can offer.

Re: another trouble code

What was the SPECIFIC code? There are a couple different O2 sensor codes.

Can we assume from your screen name that you have a 94? Might be a good idea to add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, tranny, major mod's, etc.

Do not put a multi-meter on an O2 sensor, unless you are sure its a very high impedance meter..... a low impedance meter can "fry" the sensor.

i did'nt notice what code it was he just said it shows the o2 sensor. i get a backfire sometimes not often but the car seems to be getting worse. runs fine for say 2 minutes then just starts missing.
