Another starting problem

The problem is that everytime it gets cold my car doesn't start. sometimes it doesn't have to be cold like early in the morning when it's cool, the car wouldn't start. when I put the key in and turn it nothing happens no radio or the accesory lights come on. But every time it's hot the car starts normal.
I was thinking it was vats related because sometimes when I hit on the steering column(close to the cylinder key) the lights come on and I can start it.
Last year befor I began to have this problem I change the ignition switch. Could that be defective?
Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Another starting problem

Make sure you have a good connection at the battery and a good ground connection to the frame.
