another quick question

i think i have a leaky water pump, can that leak onto the pulley cause the belt to slip and me lose power steering

That you should not worry about.... BUT, it will leak onto the Opti. This is what usually causes the Opti to go out.

No you should not loose power steering.
The belt is tight enough to prevent that.
