Another overheating issue.

K well I've wondered for awhile if I have some overheating issues. First of all I got a new radiator before storage back in september, now I have a leaking waterpump that is gettin replaced this week and I'm wondering about the sensor because i've heard they go pretty easily. I mean it doesn't take long for the heat guage to reach just about 3/4 and sit there under normal driving conditions; not to mention I don't have the air dam scoop thing, it was cut off by the previous owner, I don't know why.

I had posted awhile ago that I went to my Chevy dealer for a quote on a leaking water pump, power steering, and getting both head gaskets replaced. They quoted me at like $3200, after that I had decided to go to a different garage that quoted me on $900 for both gaskets, $300 for the waterpump and about the same for a new power steering pump. They told me I could wait on gasket because it was a very small leak and wasn't needed asap, so I just went for a new waterpump because it was the only thing that was leaking dangerously.

I'm not a mechanic but I have a leaking gasket and If I put in a new waterpump and continue to drive and wait till say the end of the summer to do the gaskets will that not cause the pump to leak again? Is that air damn really important? How much does a new sensor cost and where is it located?

If you have bad head gasket(s). The odds are you won't make it through the summer. Get them replaced ASAP! If you're talking about the CTS, Coolant Temperature Sensor. It's near the bottom of the pump. Which one do you need? There are 2. One goes in the waterpump. The other goes in the driver side head.
