.. i think I narrowed all my problems to my opti I think its the original, Ive never replaced it since Ive had it for 2 years..
Syptoms are:
1.runs fine if you let it sit for awhile for about 5 to 10 minutes
2. after the 5 or 10 minutes it starts surging missing all thru the rpm range backfires a little loss of 100 horsepower, barely pulls itself.
3.I'm pretty sure it has to be the opti for it to run so good for the first 5 too 10 mins, I dont think nothing else could make my car run so horrible,after 10 minutes
4.and when this started it happened all of a sudden, Just lost all power when I was just normally driving, the car has brand new 02 sensors about a month old,No ses lights
5. Does everyone think it's my opti?

 

I would say it's electrical, not for sure if it's opti though, although backfiring sounds like it is. You need some diagnostics or scanning to really be sure.

car has 122,600 miles and i think it has orignal opti.


does a bad opti give the car rough starts once in a while?.... car has new plugs,wires, coil and starter. just trying to narrow down my pesky little problem

 

ijust replaced mine and i only have 80k on my car but when i opened the opti up it was toast inside. do your self a favor when you replace it do everything wires, seals , and water pump
you will be gald you did it all at the same time.
