Another Cat question....
Another Cat question....
I was ready to gut out my cats on my 96 Z with a flowmaster muffler, but then thought about it and first question is will it mess up my A/F mixture or do i need to change my 0 2 sensor to adapt to the way that cat should have been made? The 2nd question is that it seems that my cats are welded in, has anybody else come across this problem, it makes it quite difficult to get off and clean out and put back on, thanks

Gutting the cats won't effect the A/F ratio, you'll just have to get a pair of O2 simulators to replace the rear O2 sensors otherwise you'll get an SES light. I haven't heard of anybody gutting the cats on a dual cat car due to them being welded in, typically they have a shop cut out the cats and weld in offroad pipes. The hard part is finding a shop that will do that.
