another "car won't start" thread!!!

this is a weird one! so the car has been sitting for about 2 weeks and this car has been a trouble free car all its life. so i take the car to work and it starts up on the first crank. then after a hard days of work i go try to start it and then nothing!!! at that same moment i was thinking to myself that this has happened before, so let me try to do the same thing last time. last time i "accidently" fixed it by touching some connectors on the ecu and check the fuses and then get back in, boom it starts. so obviously i tried it again and nothing this time. the obviously problem is that when you turn the key to the "on" position, the dash lights doesn't even come on (oil light, brake, check engine, etc..) so i thought two things; the sensor/chip on the key is worned or ecu isn't getting power. One thing to note is that the car had a JET Power Control Module installed (P/N: 19515S I believe this module is pretty old) and theres a pink wire you have to tap into on the grey connector and that pink wire was broken, so i respliced the wires together and still nothing. so that can be related to the starting problem!!!!!! I need help big time and hopefully i didn't fry my ecu. btw the car is an 95 z28. any help would be great!

probably a dumb question, but you said no lights came on in the "on" position. you did check the battery right?

Well then its almost got to be no power or ground to the ECM. here is a link to the pinout of the ECM so you can tell which place to check at.

i couldn't get the chance to check the voltages but is there a way to check the ecu if its good or not? I have no clue where to look. Can the pcm ground be loose? what is the theft deterrent module? i am looking at page three the pcm module and i am looking at pin b31 and that is connected to the instrument panel, can that be related to the problem? also, b30 is where the jet module was connected to and was all messed and i respliced it, can that be related? i have NO CLUE!!!! I NEED HELP!!!! http://shbox.com/1/1995_pcm3.jpg

If you turn the key on and don't get any dash lights, you have a problem with the ignition switch contacts.

Sounds just like the problem i had with my car last year. Worked great for a long time and then out of nowhere it started being really flaky. Sometimes the car would start right up, some times it would turn over but not start, and other times it wouldn't even turn on the dash lights. Turned out the ignition switch was all melted and black. I didn't think it was to bad to replace. Only took about 2 hours.
