Am I down on power?

Ok... so I installed my bolt-ons a while back and I didn't feel any difference on the seat of the pants dyno lol. I haven't really had the time to take it to the track either. (Last time I went a broke and haven't had time or money to upgrade all of my drivetrain).

For the record I have a 95 Trans Am (Hopefully you've all figured that out already lol) and the car is an M6.

The first time I dynoed the car I only had a 3" flowmaster. I put down 260 rwhp 306 ft/tq. Since then I've installed a 9" w/4.11's and a spool w 35 spline axles. Moroso CAI, Pacesetter LT's, y-pipe w/ dual cutouts (no cat), and a meziere EWP, NGK nitrous plus but still the stock wires. The car is untuned. The car put down 261 rwhp with the cutouts closed and 268 rwhp with the cutouts open and 310 ft/tq.

Both times I dynoed it was on a Dynojet Dyno and in similar weather. I have seen 6 speed LT1's on here put down way more power than I am making. I just don't know how much power the 9" is eating up. I know that its a heavy rear and the 35 spline axles aren't helping matters. I also realize that the track will tell the truth of things, but just by looking at the dyno do my numbers sound right or is there possibly something else wrong with the car?

Very strange that you had no gain going from a simple cat back exhaust all the way to LT's and ORY. That just doesn't make any sense.
A 9" or 12-bolt "rule of thumb" reference is about a 10rwhp deficit.

Take it to a garage and get it on a diagnostic scanner that can do datastreaming. Take it for a spin and go WOT and see if you are getting any knock retard.

ya, sounds like false knock or exhaust leak.

how was the weather for both dyno pulls?

was it the same dyno?

you should have seen an increase with the lt, like stated before though an exhaust leak or kr would cost you some power

Your overkill rear end for your application is eating your horsepower. Who's thumb is this guy using that he thinks 10rwhp for a 9 inch? That's laughable. 9 inch will eat alot more hp than your 10 bolt did. I'd rather have a well built 10 bolt than that heavy *** 9 inch any day of the week.

I'd rather have slicks and a 12 bolt myself

All the 9" I have used are perfect also.
Ya may give up a few HP but ya will never again be under there rebuilding a rear end.

Well this turned into a 9" v 12 bolt v 10 bolt discussion really fast lol. For the record, a friend of mine has broken his 6 speed with 12 bolt 3 times now. I don't know anyone who has broken a 9" yet.

That said, I do have some small header leaks, but I haven't had time to fix them. Hmm... so still no consensus if I am down on power or if this is correct for the 9"? Also, a friend of mine put down 268 rwhp on the same dyno same day, but through an auto. He was CAI, LT's, and a cutout. Minimal tune and no EWP.

Nope. Posted that in the first post. I'm not tuned because I haven't had the money and there aren't any decent LT1 tuners local.
