Aluminum u/d pulley removal

I have taken it off a couple of times now, but I use a 3-claw puller and it always bends the **** out of the lip of the pulley. I thought about using grease when I put it back together to make it easier, but how do you guys get yours off w/out destroying the pulley?

I use a 6ton 2 jaw gear puller. Works great.
