Is the aluminum driveshaft really worth the $$
#2
there are a couple of questions that go along with that.
ls1 or 1le?
Does your steel one vibrate?
Are you looking new or used?
I picked up a used 1le one real cheap off of a guy who got a 12 bolt and needed a new driveshaft for that. It was definitly worth it. It's not going to be a seat of the pants improvement if thats what your looking for. If you current steel one vibrates, then yes it's definitly worthwhile to upgrade if you need a new one anyhow. People say the LS1 is weaker than the 1LE and therefore not worth it for the new price. Would i pay full price for a 1LE, probably not unless my car was fairly built already and i had money and was looking for stuff to do.
edit* the install is easy as pie, 4 bolts.

You used to be able to go to your dealer and complain about vibration problems coming from your driveshaft and they would replace it with an aluminum one. There was a problem with many of the driveshafts in 94. I got my alum one for free. Solved all of my vibration woes!
