Aluminum driveshaft or LCAs first? Your vote counts!

Trying to decide on doing either LCAs or an aluminum driveshaft. The driveshaft right now isn't to bad but there is some vibrations, and it does get pretty bad over 80-85mph under acceleration. On the other hand I would like to be able to drop the clutch for some decent 60ft. times at the track. I already have Nitto DRs and a stage 2 clutch, but I still cant hook to well. It seems like LCAs should help a bit from what I have read/heard. So what do you guys think, what first?

Aaron

Have you altered the ride height of your vehicle with lowering springs... if so, don't forget about LCA relocation brackets.

I vote for driveshaft since the vibration is more of a problem when driving. The relocation brakets are supposed to reduce 60 ft by 1 tenth, so I would get them also when you get the LCAs

Do you get wheel hop? If so, spring for the control arms

IMO, I would get a Denny's shaft....to many breakage problems with the alum shafts.

I have a set of Spohn LCA's and Panhard in the for sale section if your interested.

well the drive shaft will make the car more enjoyable on the rare occasion that you cruize at 80+ mph...

the lca will help you every time you launch and also during cornering

so what do you want? comfort or speed?

I'd go with the LCA...they prevent possible rearend damage in the event that you wheelhop.

I never really had many problems as far as wheel hop, its just the tires spin and then hook up, or I bogg down on the line. Always one or the other. I was pretty set on the LCAs but now Im thinking since I do a lot of highway driving and the car is mostly a daily driver...I might go for the driveshaft first.. thanks for all the replys!

Why not just keep saving up and do both at the same time?

Because right now I have $$ for one or the other, so why not do one now one later?

In that case, go with driveshaft.

Aluminum DS. My stock steel DS killed my rear driving at 90 one day with only 25k miles on the car due to bad vibration from it. If you drag race it much I would go with the 1LE over the LS1 if you're deciding between the two, thats what I got.
