Alternator/voltage regulator issue???

The car - 96Z28, H/C/LT's/True Duals.

The problem - The volt meter in the gauge cluster drops to ~11V and the check gauges light starts flickering (which it's supposed to) when I'm on the gas, accelerating or just maintaining speed. If the engine is idling, the volt meter sits at 13V. I'm pretty sure that it's not the battery since it's new.

I've had alt's die before in other cars, but never with these symptoms. What's your take?? Anyone seen this before??

Neeever mind. It's the alt and I didn't even have to remove it and have it tested. I went to remove the bat cable from the back of the alt and discovered that the post the cable is connected to was loose in the alt.
