Alternator: How much power gain without it?

About how much power does the alternator rob? I was just wanting to know, I have the underdrive kit, just wanted to know if I pulled the belt for a run would it help a bit? I can pull the belt easy, dont have A/C and plenty of space. Thanks

Less with battery fully charged and electric stuff turned off. Under those conditions, you only deal with spin losses, not power to make electricity, which can be about another 1-2 horsepower on top of spin losses at full load. I don't know the spin losses.

I'd think 2-3 hp total at high rpm full electrical load, and about 1hp or less no load.
